Just over the bridge from Wilmington is a wedding venue paradise like you’ll never see: The Barn at Rock Creek. With 16+ acres of lush grass fields, a tree swing, and a beautiful pond, brides have come flocking to get married in the quiet nature sanctuary just outside Leland.
The venue coordinator, Lesley, and I recently collaborated on a beautiful bridal shoot together on a perfect Spring day. I wanted to show brides exactly what kind of photographs they could get on their wedding. This place has it all, DO NOT let the name fool you. Yes it’s a barn, but as soon as you step inside you know you’re in for a luxurious treat.
Be sure to check out the interview we did with Lesley and hear why the Barn at Rock Creek might be the perfect venue for you!
Three words: attention to detail. From the spacious bridal suite upstairs to the dozen chandeliers in the main reception room, the Barn at Rock Creek doesn’t disappoint. There are two bathrooms upstairs, with separate suites for BOTH brides and grooms! Talk about foresight! These folks knew what they were doing when they started building this place. You’re off the beaten path, but at no point will you feel like you’re roughing it. Talk about clean!
For the shoot, I wanted to add a bit of fashion flair to the rustic barn theme. Maria from Ward Hair Design in Wilmington absolutely crushed the makeup and hair. I told her to go dramatic and she did! The smoky eye makeup added the perfect touch to our theme on fashion meets country. Verzaal’s Florist hooked us up with a killer Spring bridal bouquet with pops of orange and yellow. Our bride Caroline totally rocked a STUNNING dress from The Wedding Dress Shoppe. The bottom half of this thing is ridiculous!!
**I’m pretty sure its a Justin Alexander gown. If you want to know exactly what it is call The Wedding Dress Shoppe and ask for Roberta. Ask her about the Marcus Anthony shoot at the Barn at Rock Creek and she’ll know exactly what you’re talking about 🙂
Without further adieu let’s get to some wedding photos!
